Vibrant Hotels still have Normal Rules: around the world in the Month of Cleanliness

by catalina / Friday, 17 September 2021 / Published in News, recommendation

We talk about what nature gives us, which is the most luxurious hotel we have. It gives us the opportunity to build the most innovative relaxation spaces. But he also asks us to be careful with what we leave behind us in the places we travel.

In September, we have 2 occasions that not only the hospitality industry must know about:

  • September 18 – World Cleanup Day and involves more care for the environment and common areas, a joint effort in which millions of earthlings will participate with small gestures.
  • September 26 – Cleanliness Day, to which Romania has officially joined and every year plans events like the one in 2019 “Let’s do it, Romania!”

It is an action that we can also apply regardless of whether we are at home, next to the house or somewhere in a hotel. And you will see that even the locations, no matter how strange, how many stars they have, how many reviews and how much imagination or money went into the design, you will see that every place keeps the same normal rules of cleanliness and care for the environment, for that the guests deserve it, but so does the planet.

  1. Kokopelli’s Cave, Farmington, New Mexico – a cave, and what could be better with the environment than the arrangement of a natural place and not construction?

Source

But this hotel cave follows the golden rule of cleanliness and eco-mindedness: it encourages guests to keep the light off if they don’t need it, the temperature is already constant, so no energy is wasted, and although the internet is functional, the separation from technology pollution is encouraged. Although, we think, going to a cave is already the beginning of the need to be in a primordial quiet place.

Among the actions used by hotels that think about nature are recycling, composting food instead of throwing it away, reducing plastic packaging and systems to reduce water or energy consumption.

2. Attrap’ Reves Hotel, France – out of the cave, into the forest, with this hotel that brings guests inside eco-plastic bubbles built from recycled materials.

And here, or better said especially here, the materials used for cleaning are, as in any hotel, bio, safe for the environment and people.

And we are constantly on the lookout for the emergence of new eco cleaning solutions, such as new product technologies composed of beneficial bacteria called probiotics. Known until now as supplements, research is being done that can bring them to the market for completely safe and eco-friendly cleaning materials. Soon all hotels will add good bacteria over bad bacteria for perfect cleanliness.

Every hotel here has been praised for its design or service. And every cleanliness rule, every attempt to be more eco-friendly is the easiest way to review a hotel, simple or extravagant.

3. POSEIDON UNDERSEA RESORTS in Fiji – because we’ve gone underground and in the forest, we also go underwater.

You’d say an underwater hotel at least has clean windows all the time. But the balance between how to clean and how to impact the environment is even more fragile here. So the hotel uses what it has around to keep itself in balance with nature. For example, bath sponges are natural, from the sea, and beauty products are locally produced, from natural materials.

This is how we try to leave our mark only in positive ways on the surrounding environment, since we chose the complete renovation of the old building and the opening of Orient Hotel Galati.

It matters what you do to the nature around you, because it’s part of the big picture your guests see. And we, at the local level, prepare meals with local products and bring customers together with those who offer local experiences, on the Danube, in the Delta and other locations, precisely so that all those who visit the area and Galațiul become fans of nature.

4. IceHotel, Sweden – a hotel that operates only seasonally and is created annually since 1989 from what nature offers.

Source

There are other hotels of this kind, but in Sweden it is the first and the largest. The idea of taking what nature gives you and making a home is an old one and we all have it. And the rules of cleanliness are respected here as well, in the boundless expanses of snow. Alternative energy is in some places not only recommended, but necessary. As originally, this hotel only offered sleeping bags, no heat.

This is not the case here in Galati, but the heating and cooling equipment are still of the latest generation, precisely to reduce the impact on nature.

5. Quetzalcoatl’s Nest –or the nature you can live in, is a hotel in Mexico where every line resembles the surrounding nature. From reflections to sounds, here you go to rediscover how important the connection with the planet is and what beauty it can offer us if it is saved from its misery.

Source

Here water is recycled and reused for daily needs, it has gardens and greenhouses with local plants that purify the air.

It is a more eco-friendly building than the standard, because although it was built on that site, it respected the local landscape and fauna.

And the building materials themselves were eco friendly.

All accommodations in the world, regardless of shape, habitat or level of luxury, have the same desire to do good: to guests and to nature. Because the things that last are those that take root in space, in community, and in nature.

If you want to make sure you’re going to an eco hotel, look for their LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) or EMA Green Seal for Hospitality certification.

What can you, as a guest, do for nature when you go to a hotel? The eco advice site awareimpact.com lists some that are already in use, as well as new ideas:

  • Do not ask to change the towels daily
  • Use your own bathroom supplies or replace multiple plastic containers with refillable ones
  • Use the recycling bins
  • Use bottles to refill them with water

We want you to feel at home in the hotel, and we want all of us to feel at home on the planet we live on. And these small changes can be made anywhere, from Galatians, underwater in Fiji or in the forest in France.

He speaks with the wisdom of the East, which inspires us: “Looking at the beauty in the world is the first step towards purifying the mind.” — Amit Ray
