Sleep tips from rest experts: at the hotel and at home, sleep easy

by catalina / Friday, 17 September 2021 / Published in recommendation

One of the most important memories, after which we grade a vacation or trip, is the one after sleep. It is the duty of the places that receive us to make our stay pleasant and that starts and ends with sleep and its quality. Do you think so? Here are some restful sleep tips and secrets that we have learned to pamper our guests.

Restful sleep – how it is prepared, what positions it has and what intervenes on it

“If it takes you 20 minutes to fall asleep, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you have a problem with sleep” (Dr. Hadine Joffe, lecturer in psychiatry at Harvard Medical School)

But on vacation and traveling, if you go to bed it means that it’s already time to sleep, to get to the next day and its schedule as quickly as possible, to dream of new things to do or the things you’ve been through. So the sheet is out of the question.

We make sure that the reception in bed is one that encourages sleep, with special 40 cm mattresses that make you lose track of time and pain.

It is among the first things tested and chosen by a place of relaxation, and it contributes to the relaxation cocktail that also includes: pillows, bedding, room color and lights, temperature and windows.

They are things designed to help you relax and fall asleep.

  1. The 30 minutes – as a rule of daily movement, the 30 minutes in the evening are necessary before bed to ensure a restful sleep and involve activities without blue light: a shower, standing on the balcony, a shift on the stairs or meditation.

We have prepared for guests those places where they can relax, from the shower to the sofa for reading.

2. We recommend sleeping on your left side. And if you already do, experts say you probably like to eat, and sleeping in this position encourages digestion. It even reduces heartburn, if you haven’t taken a 4-hour break before sleep.

3. The condition of the room matters for sleep – that’s why we ensure with the cleaning period that we ventilate and ensure a perfect temperature for restful sleep.

Did you know that for the perfect sleep the temperature is not above 20 degrees? The body is constantly adjusting for rest and experts recommend a temperature of 18-19 degrees for bedrooms as a pleasant environment for body and mind.

4. The bed is not an office, and therefore we do not encourage bringing this tool that means work or attention to a small blue screen in bed. We have equipped the rooms with work desks, so that when you go to bed you can only think about what is important: rest.

5. The quality of the bedding matters, and this is said not only by our experience and that of the specialists, but also by every new guest who tells us that everything was fine with their stay.

We ensure that they are not only clean and fresh, but also have the perfect composition for sensitive skin. And that they are always like a white canvas on which you can take your favorite photos and sleep perfectly.

From sleep care at the hotel, to sleep hygiene at any time

If at the hotel it is mandatory to sleep well in order to feel that you will want to come back, at home you can make small routine changes to ensure a restful sleep.

These small steps are part of sleep hygiene, a real concept that the diagnostic and treatment center Dr. Victor Babeș also talks about.

  • Maintaining the bedtime, which is not just for the little ones. This regulation of sleeping and waking hours does us all just as well.
  • Make sure you have exposure to strong sunlight, because it regulates vitamin levels, but also sleep.
  • Nude is better. That means naked sleep, which experts say regulates temperature, heart rate, and one study even found improved self-esteem.

These rules for sleep hygiene can come into our reflexes like the rules after more than a year of the pandemic, and we can do them without thinking about them, with a little practice.

We, at Orient Hotel Galați, know how important rest is, which begins with a good night’s sleep. It is not only recommended for vacations or for hard work, but also because the lack of good sleep increases the risk of obesity, heart disease and type 2 diabetes.

And we, we are waiting for you happily and we part more rested and healthier.

He speaks with the wisdom of the East, which inspires us: “”Every night, when I go to sleep, I die. And the next afternoon, when I wake up, I am reborn.” — Mahatma Gandhi,
